Carmack/Bowler/Bowler Cousins

The Bobby Bowlers are here this weekend, and the cousins had so much fun playing together last night. Craig found a snake in the backyard and the girls were playing with it for a while. I'm pretty sure all of the girls took turns holding it. They are all Texas country girls now! I think I am too old and set into my ways (and fears) to really enjoy and get up-close to all the wildlife like the little girls do. The boys really didn't want it to get too close to them. After they were done playing with it, they let it go in some tall grass across the street. I should have got some pictures of this, but unfortunately I didn't. :( The rest of the night turned into the Olympics. We had all kinds of events... somersaults, cartwheels, back flips, wrestling...lots of fun!
This was the "chair against the wall" event. (I think one of the participants should have been in another weight/height division :)
The sit-ups event
Of course there were some penalty's. Gray got a time-out for unsportsmanlike conduct when he caught Miles with a fish-hook.
These four got side-lined for running the 100 yd dash in an arena that does not permit it.
We don't have to wait for 8-8-08 we have it here, live, whenever we want it. Tickets are on sale now.

another Zoe funny (I love this girl!)

Zoe and I were watching a DVR'd cooking show. Of course I was fast-forwarding through the commercials. She asked me if the chefs prepared some of their food during the commercial break. I told her that they did. She was quiet for a minute, and I could tell that she was thinking about something really hard. Then she asked me "Well, how can they get the food ready so fast when we fast-forward it? :)

crockpot365.blogspot.com

I Y this blog! I want to start using my crockpot more often. I don't like cooking over the stove in the summer, so the crockpot is the perfect solution! So far, I have only tried the fajitas..... YUM! And much easier than cooking them the "old fashioned" way. I really want to try the creme brulee (my favorite!) Let me know if you try any of the recipes.

Reunion with an old friend

Tammy is a really good friend of mine from when we lived in Watauga a few years ago. We had lost contact over the years. She moved out of Watauga before we did, so it has been probably five years since we had seen each other. Well, a couple of months ago, out of the blue, she called me. :) It was so good to hear from her! We finally got together yesterday. We met at a McDonald's that is halfway between our houses (we live a couple hours apart). It was so fun! She has 3 boys Noah 11, Ben 9, and Sam 5. They are so grown up now! I still pictured them as little boys. Nope! My girls went to Joy School with them and they were all such good friends. It was a little sad because now that all the kids are bigger, there was no interaction at all between them. They didn't remember each other, and I'm sure it was partly the boy/girl thing too. It's OK, they still have time to get reacquainted before their arranged marriages. ;) Really though, it was so good getting to visit with them, and hopefully we will see them again for Zoe's birthday party in a couple weeks.

He's so obedient!

At bedtime last night Miles didn't want to go to bed. (like always) So since Craig was at work, and I really miss cuddling with my babies, I let him go to bed with me. Well he wouldn't calm down. He was hiding under the covers, sitting on top of me, giggling.....he just wouldn't go to sleep. I finally made him get down, and I told him to go get in his bed. He left the room and I thought he would come right back. He didn't, so I figured he got in bed with one of the sisters. I went to find him about 1o minutes later. He wasn't with any of the girls. He had climbed up into his crib and was sound asleep. He's so obedient! What a good boy!!! I'm sure that it won't happen again, but it was too cute, I just had to share it.
*Oh yeah, I wish you all could see him today. He looks so cute! He is running around the house with nothing on but his tighty whiteys. Yep, he is wearing big boy pants! At least around the house he is, when we leave home he wears pull-ups. I'll post a picture later. :)

It's just not right!

This little girl should not be old enough to be on her way to her very first concert. It's just not right! :)
Paige's friend had an extra ticket to the Jonas Brothers concert and invited Paige to go. We told her she could, and she was so excited that she was shaking. I just can't believe she is old enough to start doing this stuff. I thought I had a few years to go before she started thinking about concerts! Oh well..... I am really excited for her fun night too. I hope you have a blast, Paige!

Fort Worth Water Gardens

Craig was home today and we wanted to do something fun and inexpensive with the kids. He did a search on the Internet for "free things to do in DFW" and there are so many cool things. We chose the water gardens for our first outing from the list. The kids loved it. There are 3 different pools there. The one you can walk down into (the bottom picture, I forgot a camera so these pics are courtesy of the web) is called The Active Pool, there is The Quiet Meditation Pool, and The Aerating pool, which has tons of fountains spraying in it. There is also a "mountain" which Paige and Zoe climbed up (I couldn't watch :) Craig let Livee climb up part way. Miles just wanted to run everywhere. It was a hot day, but it was actually nice there. There was a good breeze and it was so shady from all the trees. There are tons of pretty paths to walk around and grassy areas to sit in. Next time we go we are going to pack a lunch and have a picnic. We could have stayed for a while longer, but Livee needed to go potty "RIGHT NOW", so we left and then we went and ate at Denny's. Kids eat free on Tuesdays! :) It was a really fun, relaxing family day and it only cost about $20 for dinner. Good find Craig!

What do you think?

I am trying to pick 2 or 3 pictures to enlarge and hang up in his room next to the saying about boys being a "noise with dirt on it." Opinions wanted.
Oh, and I'm going to have them printed in black and white to unify them.
